The 'pooja' launch of Mohanlal's Casanova directed by Rosshan Andrews took place on Saturday, January 24 at Confidante Cascade in Bangalore, a resort run by the producer Dr Roy C.J

Tamil actor Arya of is going to do his first film in Malayalam. Arya alias Jamshed is a Malayalee from Kasargod who has made it big in Tamil with films like Pattiyal, Arindhum Ariyamalum, Vattaram and is now doing Bala's magnum opus Njaan Kadavul.

Mohanlal came to the function along with six Mumbai models in a six door white Limousine. Arya, has an important role in the film and he burst into the stage at the function on a red motorcycle.

The film is based on a story by Sanjay and Bobby, camera by R. Divakaran, music by Alex Paul and is produced by Dr. Roy C.J of Confident group, the Bangalore based real estate people under the banner of Confident Entertainment (India) Ltd.

The function was attended by the unit of the film Jagathy Sreekumar, Lalu Alex, Lakshmi Rai and Priyanka. Some leading directors like Priyadarshan, Joshy Sibi Malayil and producers Suresh Kumar, P.V Gangadharan, Antony Perumbavoor also flew in to Bangalore to attend the big launch of the film.


Says director Rosshan Andrews who has given Mohanlal the blockbuster Udayanu Tharam and also directed the hit Notebook with newcomers: "It is an action, romantic thriller revolving around a Casanova (Mohanlal) who believes that love can cure crime. There is a Casanova in one out of every five men in the world."

Mohanlal will play a Casanova who not only runs after women but also runs the most successful international flower business based in Vienna in Austria.

The action scenes in the film will be choreographed by Franz Spilhaus, the stunt coordinator of Hollywood action films Flight in Phoneix, King Soloman's Mines, Avenger and Bollywood hits like Singh is Kinng, Drona and has now completed Surya's Ayan in Tamil.

There are five models and Lakshmi Rai in the film along with other Malayalam artists. The major shoot of the film will be in Vienna in Austria and other European locations, and will start from April 11.

Casanova with a budget of Rs 10 crore will be the costliest Malayalam film ever made, and will be Mohanlal's big 2009 Onam release on September 2 through Vaisakha Films.
