Scores of males are busy salivating over the immensely drool worthy Barbara Mori. And her soaring popularity does inspire envy in collective female hearts. The 'Kites' new find, a Mexican model, telly actress and cine star, is hoping to win over Indian audiences too with the high flying Roshan flick
Of mixed ancestry, Mori gets her Japanese surname from her paternal grandfather. Her modelling stint at an early age in Mexico, paved the way for television and Mori went on to bag acclaim and awards for her histrionics in 'Azul Tequila' and 'Rubi'
Besides, Mori also has a commendable filmography which includes the much lauded 'My Brother's Wife'. Undoubtedly, 'Kites' offers her the global spotlight, as the flick had already bagged centrestage at Cannes in 1999, unveiling its 'first look', with Mori walking the coveted red carpet.In a free wheeling chat Mori sheds light on the Roshan production, director Anurag Basu, personal issues and more. Presenting some succinct excerpts...
On 'Kites'"It's a very special film in every which way. 'Kites' is my first action film. It's my first big budget film, apart from being my first Bollywood movie and my first English film. I have never done anything like this before."
On co actor Hrithik Roshan"The best part about Hrithik is that apart from being a good actor, he is a very fine human being. He was always around for me. And he's such a perfectionist on the sets that he was taking care of every single detail. I hadn't watched any Bollywood movies before I signed 'Kites'. Then I saw 'Jodhaa Akbar' and I was like, is he going to be like this in 'Kites' too? After that I saw 'Koi ..Mil Gaya' and 'Lakshya' and realised what a fabulous actor he is."On Natasha"My character is that of a girl who has a large family. She has brothers and a mother who is sick for most of the time. She needs a lot of money to support her family and she thinks that the best way to do it is to find and marry a rich man. She does find Tony, who is a very rich man in Las Vegas, but she also finds that she does not love him. She loves someone else! Now she has to choose between love and money! What happens then is what 'Kites' is all about. If you do want to fall in love, go and see 'Kites'.
On kissing onscreen"After I decided to do 'Kites', I did see a few Bollywood movies. And I found that whenever there is a kissing scene, the camera goes off... to another scene! I found that quite funny. In Mexican films we have so much kissing and no one makes a big deal out of it. When I had to do a kissing scene for 'Kites' I asked Hrithik if it was such a big matter in India. And he told me that, no, things are changing in the country now..."

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone arrives for the screening of the French film Tournee(On Tour) presented in competiton at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, May 13, 2010 in Cannes. Deepika looked hot in a Rohit Bal saree at the premiere of 'Tournee'. This was deeps first appearance on the red carpet at the Cannes Film festival. Deepika was at the event as brand ambassador for liquor brand Chivas Regal. It was the 24-year-old star walked the Cannes red carpet in the traditional Indian dress. India, May 14 -- Dhoni was right in one way. Players have to make their own choices about their bodies, but it's not always that easy - not if you're not Mahendra Singh Dhoni or Sachin Tendulkar or Rahul Dravid. My problem with the IPL Nites parties was not that I was forced to attend by any contractual obligation. There was no such thing for me, or, to my knowledge, for any of my fellow India players. Each party was invariably the same routine. You would have a set-up with a ramp show that lasted 30 to 45 minutes, then the models would come off and mix with the rest and the party would take off. There were cheerleaders and girls who we called 'escort service'. Beautiful women to add glamour to the mix, get the party moving. They were not allowed to talk to any player for more than five minutes. If they did, a manager would walk up and slickly move her away But there were other women, willing and uninhibited. The big-name players who did attend generally handled themselves without a problem. They would hang around, chat, have a drink, pick up a happy girl, sometimes two, take her back to the hotel room and have some fun. Watching some of our younger players, the u-19 and u-22 kids, though, was scary. They had never been exposed to Bollywood stars, Page 3 personalities, endless cigarettes (all free), flowing booze, occasionally drugs and always women, willing women, everywhere. The boys lapped it up, and would party right through. Those that didn't drink or smoke did so to be part of the cool gang. The pressure lay more in the occasional hint dropped by an IPL official, a sponsor or a franchise official that it would be good if I were there for a bit, that there were some people they would like me to meet. I am not Tendulkar or Dravid, I couldn't say no, go back to my room and stay there and not be bothered. So when you go back to the room to recover, you really don't want to hang around there when the rest of the guys are going downstairs - the parties are always in the team hotels - and you don't want to be called "boring". So you tell yourself, 'I'll go down for an hour', only, it's never an hour. Before you know it, it's 4am and you're heading back to your room, hurrying to pack up and head to another city, another game, another sponsor's commitment (which are endless), another shoot possibly and yes, another party. The problem is that you can never switch off mentally. Not on the field, not during the hours spent in airports when fans and the airport staff want an autograph, photograph or just a chat and not in the parties, where you'll be introduced to important people who will listen to you and perhaps, be important contacts who will make money for you. It's a choice and it's tiring but it's also business. You have to be switched on. It takes a toll, when you play a game, party till 4am, pack and grab an hour's sleep before heading for the airport and spend six to 12 hours travelling. Places like Jaipur and Chandigarh don't have direct connections to everywhere else. That's my most vivid memory of IPL, not the matches, not the parties but the endless travel and exhaustion - and next year, with 34 games more, it will only get worse. I didn't even know if I really wanted to. It's like this. The IPL is intense; short bursts of highly charged games and then, nothing. There's no period of introspection. Oru Naal Varum is a much awaited movie of Mohanlal and Sreenivasan. Sameera Reddy makes her Malayalam debut with this movie. Directed by T K Rajeev Kumar and produced by Manian Pillai Raju, the movie was slated to get released on May 14. But now the releasing date has been postponed to June 25.

Vijay’s 51st movie Kavalkaran shooting is currently going on in full swing in Karaikkudi and Kumbakonam regions of Tamil nadu. Vijay and Asin along the other crew members are shooting for the introductory song and some important sequences of the film at these locations.
Raj Kiran plays Asin dad’s role in the film. The latest news we hear from the crew is that Roja will pair up with Raj Kiran to play Asin mom’s mom. The other cast of Kavalkaran includes Vadivelu, and MS Bhaskar while music for the film has been scored by Vidyasagar.
Siddique and Vijay worked together long back for their film Friends, which was also a Malayalam film in original.
It’s a real surprise that media channels seem to have rather ignored the wedding of South Indian actress Sindhu Menon, which was held last Saturday in Bangalore. Hailing from Kerala, the actress made her debut in the Tamil film industry with Bharathiraja’s Kadal Pookal and shared screen space with Murali in K.S. Ravikumar’s Samudram. Off late, the actress became busy with other regional film offers including Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Her comeback in Kollywood with Shankar’s supernatural thriller Eeram won her rave reviews and indeed endowed with Hollywood offers.
Last Saturday, the actress entered wedlock with UK based IT Professional Prabhu in Bangalore with several celebrities from the film industry gracing the occasion. Eeram filmmaker, Arivazhagan, and actor Nanda were also present for the marriage.
