It was reported in a section of the media that Tamannaah is going to do a Malayalam film opposite Mohanlal.

But sources close to the actress who is currently holidaying in US say that there is no truth in it.

As per the report which first appeared in Malayalam press, Tamannaah has been paid a bomb to be Mohanlal’s heroine in an Anil directed film.

The shoot of the film was to start in September, with noted cameraman Jayanan Vincent as the cinematographer.

However a source close to Tammmu said: “ Tamannaah is the busiest actress down south, and after she comes back from her holiday, she has to start work on four films. She has two in Tamil with Dhanush and Karthi and two in Telugu with Allu Arjun and Nag Chaitanya. Where does she have time to do a Malayalam film?”

A trim and glowing Nayanthara finds it difficult to stop talking about Elektra Alexander, her character in Shyamaprasad's film Elektra. The oomph girl is nowhere in the picture as the actor gushes about her role and its challenges.

“Elektra is a complex character driven by love and loyalty. Such challenging female characters are hard to come by in Indian cinema and so I really enjoy playing her," says the hot and happening actor who has made a comeback to Malayalam films with Bodyguard.

It is the role in the film, the banner and the director that matter and that is why she chose to act in Siddique's Bodyguard, she says. “I was not enthused by the characters that came my way. Moreover, my dates were all tied up in major Telugu and Tamil productions,” adds the lissom lass.

Versatile genius of Malayalam cinema, Sreenivasan, is playing a central character in the forthcoming Malayalam film Atmakadha.

It is being directed by debutant Premlal, who earlier made a few documentaries and short films. Bollywood actor Sharbani Mukherjee plays the heroine. Shooting of the film is currently underway at Kuttikkanam.

Sreenivasan is one of the finest scenarists in Malayalam. He is known for his fine performances as an actor. He has also directed two well acclaimed films -- Vadakkunokkiyanthram andChinthavishtayaya Shyamala.

He is playing a visually challenged person in the story, who is undeterred by his circumstances. He works in a candle manufacturing unit.

Sharbani, who shot to fame with Border, has acted in Sufi Paranja Kadha recently. She plays Sreenivasan's wife in the film. Shafna plays their daughter.

Oru Naal Varum is a much awaited movie of Mohanlal and Sreenivasan. Sameera Reddy makes her Malayalam debut with this movie. Directed by T K Rajeev Kumar and produced by Manian Pillai Raju, the movie was slated to get released on May 14. But now the releasing date has been postponed to June 25.

The producer of the film Raju told sify.com: “Too many films released last Friday (May 7), and there is acute theatre shortage. We thought of delaying it by a week to May 21, but monsoon is due in Kerala in the last week of May. After consulting the trade we have now decided to release the film on June 25.”

The movie already has got a clean U certificate and the movie already is getting a positive response.

One of the most popular actresses of recent years, Gopika was blessed with a baby girl . The actress and her baby are in good health, taking rest at a hospital at Ireland.

Gopika who got married in July 2008, moved away from films and settled at Ireland with her husband Dr.Ajilesh, who practices there. Perhaps following the suit of her colleagues in Bollywood is Asin, who, if reports are to be believed, would promote the newly formed Kochi IPL team.

It is said that since the actress, who is one of the hot and happening stars of Bollywood, hails from Kerala, organisers of the Kochi team found her a right choice to make their team familiar with cricket lovers all over India.

“Following this, they approached the actress and finally convinced her to be part of the promotional events planned for the cricket team, which will take the field for the next season, in 2011,” reports added.

Meanwhile, Asin’s father Joseph Thottumkal too was quoted as saying that he did not want to comment whether his daughter was roped in or not by the cricket team, since the announcement should come from the team owners.

Mamta plays the mother of a five year old in the film who meets Jayaram an autorikshaw driver and a do-gooder who develops a friendship with the mother and daughter which leads to the emotional twist in the film. The film has lots of sentiments, emotional moments laced with comedy and is sure to appeal to the family audiences.

The untitled Sathyan film produced by an NRI Thankachan Emanuel has all his regular actors and crew and will be the directors big summer release in April.

The pooja of Christian brothers was held at Kochi, yesterday. The stars of movie including the lead actor super star Mohanlal attended the functions held at Sarovaram. To be directed by veteran Joshy, the movie will get into sets in a couple of weeks.

As per Malluwood grapevine after the super success ofPuthiya Mugham, Prithviraj has hiked his salary from Rs 25 to 40 lakhs!

The film is a super hit and has taken a share of over Rs 2 crore from releasing stations in 17 days, with Ernakulam Shenoys netting Rs 21 the highest in Kerala. It is Pritviraj’s biggest hit and the film that became profitable from Kerala theatricals in record 17 days.
